Steve Godin, President of the Oregon Coast Anglers, provided an update for local fishers regarding upcoming opportunities. The organization meets the first Thursday of the month at 6:00 pm inside the Marina Activity Center in Winchester Bay. Early in the year, anglers can catch Ling Cod, which are in shallow water spawning, with regulations allowing three Ling Cod and four Rockfish per day. Fresh water opportunities include Winter Steelhead and Striped Bass in the Smith River, while Spring Chinook fishing begins in March above the Scottsburg Bridge and runs until June 30.
